Why use handcrafted soaps?

Hand crafted soaps are made with natural products, containing no drying petroleum products or detergents. Through development over the years, it is not the harsh lye soap that many people may remember their grandmothers making.  While all soap is made with lye, none is contained in the finished soap. Glycerin is a by product of soap manufacturing, so when you combine fats/oils (triglycerides) and a base, the end product is soap and glycerin. The glycerin comes off the triglyceride molecule.  Commercial soap manufacturers remove all the glycerin because it's a valuable commodity to sell separately. It's also (one reason) why commercial  "soap" is so drying on the skin.  In handcrafted soap the glycerin remains (which is why all handcrafted soap-opaque or otherwise-is true "glycerin" soap). The finished soaps are gentle and very soothing to your skin producing a nice lather rich in glycerin.

Handcrafted soaps gently lift the soil on your skin into suspension so it can be washed away.  Handcrafted soaps leave glycerin and other moisturizing oils behind, making your skin softer and less dry.  I use a "cold" process method to handcraft my soaps in small batches.  That is, I do not heat my ingredients, this helps to preserve the naturally occurring properties of the milk and oils I use.  The result is a soap that moisturizes, soothes, and softens your skin naturally.
What are handcrafted soaps made of?

All my soaps are made with coconut, rice bran, castor oil, and vegetable oils .

A lot of my products contain herbs which are known to be good for the skin.  I use them by infusing them into the oils or actually adding the herbs to the product. Most people with sensitive skin can use my scented products, but for those with especially delicate complexions I offer unscented products.
What is used for the fragrance?

I use Fragrance oils and Essential oils which are cosmetic grade and are made to be used in soapmaking.  Essential oils are a natural form for scenting. They are extracts of the plant materials.
What is used for the color?

I use cosmetic grade pigments and natural herbs to achieve the coloring.
Why do the bars vary in size?

All the soaps are made in small batches by hand from start to finish. Making them all unique. I hand cut and this is where they will vary a little in size, and as they dry they decrease in weight.  All weight 4 ozs. or more.
What is the turnaround time on orders?

You as a customer are very important to me. I will get your order in the mail within two business days after I receive your payment. If there is a delay due to soap availability, I will let you know right away.
